Construction in Broward County forces the Turnpike to close down for the next three nights.

The northbound and the southbound lanes will be closed between Commerical Boulevard and the Coconut Creek Parkway.  Lanes are closed at 11 p.m. and they reopen at 5 a.m. starting Tuesday night and continuing through Friday morning.

The Pompano Service Plaza and the Atlantic Boulevard southbound Turnpike entrance ramp will also be closed during the overnight hours.  Northbound drivers will be detoured off the Turnpike at Commercial Boulevard and directed east towards State Road 7 and can then reenter the Turnpike at Coconut Creek Parkway.

Southbound drivers will be detoured off the Turnpike at the Coconut Dreek Parkway and directed west towards State Road 7 and can then reenter the Turnpike at Commercial Boulevard.

Construction crews will be removing and replacing sign structures which span the entire width of the Turnpike.  This sign replacement is part of the Broward County widening project.  The last phase of the Broward widening project consists of an additional northbound lane being built between Sunrise Boulevard and Atlantic Boulevard and is projected to be completed by this summer.
